Now this is what I call a new pixelled masterpiece for AmigaOS 4. Its name is Blastaway and it is out now according to the news item here.
Finally after many years. The AmigaOS 4 people finally gets a new game that is also released for Windows. It is totally free and Blastaway is its name. The gameplay looks really awesome. It would be nice to have this one ported to MorphOS and AROS too though. Or how about Classic Amiga? But now its out for AmigaOS 4.
To see AmigaOS 4 getting something new is really cool. I have always been into the nextgen AmigaOS line of systems. With some push, they could have become a door opener for users that wanted to jump from MacOS, Windows or Linux. Maybe very soon it will.
Blastaway is out for AmigaOS 4 Now
RETREAM is delighted to announce the release of Blastaway, a highly playable and entertaining arena shooter, gameplay-wise heavily and shamelessly inspired to Wizard of Wor and graphically somewhat inspired to The Chaos Engine. Graphics have been pixelled by hand and music has been tracked as modules to let the player live a true 16 bit experience. And the 50 arenas, spread over 5 different stages, have been designed to make that experience intensely enjoyable… and last long! Are you brave enough to step into the arenas and clear them of the wors they swarm with?
The best thing about Blastaway is that it is for free. Blastaway runs on AmigaOS 4 and Windows. The music got SID parts and the sound effects sounds legit too. The graphics is a bit The Chaos Engine inspired with some nice transparency effects showing up. Its possible to see that the author have used lots of times on developing this game which is really neat. I just wish that I had a AmigaOS 4 machine to test it on. I have been promised one, but I haven’t got anything yet. Until then I can only give you the news like this.
I think that AmigaOS 4 deserves much more love than it got. More reasons for getting AmigaOS 4 such as this game is great. Even though I would love to see this on MorphOS and AROS. It is in fact also nice to have something that makes people want to get AmigaOS 4.
