Out Run for Amiga AGA with 68030 or better!

Finally, the wait is over for Amigans! A totally new version of Out Run is now out for Amiga. This Out Run version requires any Amiga with AGA chipset and 68030 50MHz CPU or better, which puts the original version of Amiga into the shamebox!

This version includes executable for the Amiga and a complete soundtrack recomposed in Protracker 4-channel MOD format. It is written in Assembler for the best performance possible. Its been Tested with Kickstart 3.0 – 3.2.3, and also 3.9,… so this is a fantastic gift to the Amiga community!

Out Run is a Dual 68000 Arcade Racing Game

The original Out Run arcade machine by SEGA came out back in 1986. It was pretty advanced for its time as it featured two 68000 CPUs running at 12.5 MHz and a Sega 315-5195 Memory Mapper FPGA. The game utilized Super Scaler technology for its 3D-like sprite scaling effects, and different cabinet designs included standard, upright, and sit-down motion simulators with hydraulic movement.

So, how would Amiga ever get a port that could take this arcade game to worlds best home computer. Well, this version of Out Run needs a strong 68030. But for optimal 30FPS you need a 68060 or higher. This is the arcade version of Out Run running on Amiga which is just stunning! Finally!…

This is a optimized port of the arcade game OutRun, utilizing the original 68000 assembly code, to mid-spec Commodore Amiga computers.

This release is not using an emulator. Nor is it based on Cannonball, MAME, or any existing project. It is a ground up rewrite in assembler, with a focus on performance. But this version also requires the original graphics and audio data from the arcade ROMs that you can find on many MAME sites out there.
