Revision 2020 is over and the Best release was This one!

What a weekend this was. Even though it is a Wuhan virus time, the organizers of Revision managed to keep this demoparty going on on-line. So, Revision 2020 will always be remembered as the on-line demoparty of 2020.

Myself, I had little sleep, yet it turned out great to watch the entries that were shown. It is amazing to see what the demoscene groups in all sorts of categories released at the party. For me, Logocima and Loonies with Way Too Rude were the best Amiga Demo at the party for sure. What a party demo this is! It is sexy, cool and awesome! Amazing what they have come up with and proves how amazing Paula sound chip is. It is an OCS Amiga demo but it also worked really well on my Amiga 1200 68060 machines at Amitopia Amiga Magazine office. No glitches or speed issues at all. Lots of Kudos for that!

I had no issues with downloading it and extract it. The file size of 64k isn’t the biggest neither so no waiting at all. Unzip for AmigaOS unpacked the archive and I was able to run the demo from AmigaOS itself.

Here are all of the Revision 2020 64k Amiga demos at Revision 2020

All of the demos can be found on the pouet.net website. This demoscene database site is useable with the latest Ibrowse web browser for AmigaOS. The search service works and you can download content. You can also use OWB which is a WebKit browser for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS or AROS.

Some of these demos require to use a lower Kickstart if you use an Amiga with Kickstart 3.x or higher. The Loonies demo worked fine on my AGA Amiga. But other demos might not even be hard drive installable at all. So be aware of that. You just have to check it out.

Including Loonies. This 64k release by Lemon. named Colombia came on 2nd place at Revision 2020 is also really a gem.

Colombia gives fantastic graphics, effects, and music with a good feeling vibe to it. I haven’t tested this one on my Amiga 1200 yet if it works or not there. A great production from a group that has been with the Amiga for a long time. I love it too. The rest are gems too. It is amazing to see the Amiga scene so alive still after 35 years.

The Amiga demo that won is a fantastic Amiga OCS demo. I really love it. The way that they made AmigaOS 1.x letters sort of change and turn into a classic type of demo for Amiga was a really nice one. You can watch it below here!

The pixel drawings in this demo are really awesome. This is what I call to be pure extravaganza art. But be aware that this one and some of the other Amiga OCS demos need a certain Kickstart to work like this one. Also, the zip file which I tried to download that is linked from pouet.net cant be unarchived in AmigaOS 3.1.4 for some reason. You need to use a PC or a Mac for that task. Also, when I try to mount the .adf file with Imagemount I get an empty disk. So it seems like this demo needs to run from a floppy. But the demo itself is really great.

Revision 2020 was a much better on-line computer party than I thought it would be. Their Twitch stream content had a quite huge quality standard over it. All of the presentations and presenters did a fantastic job I think. I loved their comments but at the same time, I hope that next year that Revision 2021 can be held as usual. This Wuhan virus needs to be gone.

Stay healthy and keep on using your Amigas.
