The Framethrower 600 FT600 is available Now!

Normally, PiStorm users rely on HDMI output from the Raspberry Pi for RTG (Retargetable Graphics), while classic Amiga screen modes still require a separate video output. This often forcing users to switch between cables or displays or must have two monitors on all the time. But with this it’s finally solving it fully.

This small but clever piece of hardware solves one of the most common frustrations when using modernized Amigas. It is acting as a scandoubler/flicker fixer that allows native Amiga video modes and Retargetable Graphics (RTG) to output through a single HDMI port, integrated with the PiStorm accelerator board.

Framethrower 600 FT600 installs by clipping onto Amiga 600 Denise chip, allowing direct access to the video chip for pure output, and connects to the Raspberry Pi3 or Raspberry Pi Zero 2. Get both Amiga signals and RTG signals out through the same HDMI cable…! Finally out!

Easy installation of Framethrower 600 FT600

The board connects directly to the Amiga’s video chip and routes the native Amiga display through the Raspberry Pi. This allows both RTG and classic screen modes to be displayed through a single HDMI output, creating a seamless experience on modern monitors.

Installation follows the familiar “classic Amiga mod” approach. The board clips onto the Denise chip and connects to the Raspberry Pi via a short cable, allowing the system to capture and display native video through the same HDMI connection used by PiStorm.

The result is a much cleaner setup

  • No more switching inputs
  • No need for additional RGB-to-HDMI converters
  • One unified display for everything

With solutions like Framethrower 600 FT600, the gap between classic and modern computing continues to shrink for Amiga users. Combined with PiStorm, the Amiga 600 becomes a surprisingly capable system that blends original hardware with modern convenience in a very elegant way.

For just 46 euros, this is a worthy upgrade for your Amiga 600 for sure.
