The Amiga community recently wrapped up its exciting AmiGameJam 2022 competition, where people created their own Amiga games with a “Sword & Sorcery” theme. Gamedevelopers from around the world joined in on the fun and showcased their creativity.

The contest started October 2022 with an announcement that the theme for this year was “Sword & Sorcery,” and participants had to make games that fit this fantasy theme.

Games were divided into two categories: “Classic OCS/AGA” and “Next-Gen Amigas,” which included Next-Gen Amigas (Aros, MorphOS, OS4 and Vampire). No matter the category, the games had to be fully playable, and judges paid attention to how complete they were.

People had until August 1st to submit their games, and then the judges got to work. The community played a big part in deciding the winners, as their ratings combined with the celebrity judges’ scores during a live awards show on Twitch hosted by AmigaBill.

The judges included Dan Wood, a popular YouTuber known for The Retro Hour podcast, and “The Bard” from the Bardic Broadcasts YouTube channel, famous for his funny video about HeroQuest. They brought their expertise to the judging panel.

Winning the competition came with exciting prizes, like the Scourge of the Underkind A500 bundle from A1200.net, which is highly sought after.

Now, as the dust settles, we’re thrilled to reveal the winners of AmiGameJam 2022:

Winners:

1st place: Rogue Declan Zero

2nd place: Rastan

3rd place: Roguecraft

These games really shone in the competition, capturing the “Sword & Sorcery” theme in fantastic ways.
