What is XACP?

XACP stands for “eXtended ARM Coprocessor Protocol”.

It’s an independent software platform that runs on the ARM Cortex-A9 processor and DDR memory built directly into the MNT ZZ9000 graphics card.

What Can It Do?

With XACP 1.6, Amiga applications can now offload compute-intensive tasks to the ZZ9000.

Instead of your 68060 or PPC CPU handling everything, you can send heavy work to the ARM chip on the ZZ9000 instead.

Perfect for:

  • Image processing
  • Audio encoding/decoding
  • 3D calculations
  • Any other CPU-heavy tasks

The result? Your Amiga CPU is freed up while the ZZ9000’s ARM + DDR RAM handles the workload.

Why This Matters

We originally bought the ZZ9000 for RTG graphics and HDMI output. Now it’s becoming so much more.

MNT keeps pushing the ZZ9000 beyond what anyone expected back in 2020. First graphics, then Ethernet, now a full co-processor.
